THE HOTEL & GUEST EXPERIENCE
Where is The Efendi Hotel located?
The Efendi Hotel is located on Louis IX Street, in the heart of Acre’s Old City, within walking distance of the port, markets, and historic sites. The hotel is set in an authentic residential neighborhood, where stone alleyways, local life, and the call to prayer are an integral part of the atmosphere. It is an opportunity to experience Acre not simply as a visitor, but as part of the living, breathing city.
What makes The Efendi Hotel unique?
An intimate luxury boutique hotel with just 12 rooms and suites, The Efendi occupies two historic mansions that have been meticulously conserved and restored. Painted ceilings, a centuries-old Turkish hammam, a Crusader wine cellar, sea views, and personal service create a stay that brings together history, authenticity, and luxury.
What types of rooms are available at the hotel?
The hotel offers 12 rooms and suites in five categories, arranged across three levels. Each level has four rooms and a shared guest lounge.
The standard of hospitality and amenities is consistent throughout. The rooms differ in size, view, bath or shower, and architectural details such as original painted ceilings. Some overlook the sea, while others look out over the alleyways of Acre’s Old City.
Every room has a double bed that cannot be separated. An extra bed can be added in selected rooms, subject to the permitted occupancy.
Is the hotel suitable for a romantic getaway?
Absolutely. The intimate atmosphere, distinctive rooms, spa treatments, and the option of dining at Uri Buri make The Efendi an ideal choice for a couples’ getaway, an anniversary, or a special celebration.
Is the hotel suitable for families with children?
The Efendi is an intimate, tranquil hotel designed primarily for couples and is less suited to families with young children. Guests may nevertheless stay with children accompanied by their parents, and an extra bed can be added in selected rooms. The hotel does not have family rooms or connecting rooms, so we recommend checking in advance which room best suits your family.
SPA, HAMMAM & DINING
What does the spa experience at The Efendi include?
The spa offers a selection of body treatments for individuals and couples, alongside an authentic 400-year-old Turkish hammam that provides a unique experience inspired by the Ottoman bathing tradition. Treatments may be booked as part of a hotel stay or as a spa day without accommodation, by prior arrangement and subject to availability.
Does the hotel have a pool, Jacuzzi, or sauna?
No. In keeping with the commitment to preserve the historic building and its original character, no modern spa facilities were added. Instead, the spa experience combines indulgent treatments, an intimate Shanti terrace, and a magnificent rooftop terrace overlooking the sea, where guests can unwind with a glass of fine wine and views of Acre’s Old City.
What does breakfast at the hotel include?
Breakfast is served à la carte at your table, with no buffet, and features local ingredients, cheeses, egg dishes, freshly baked breads, and specialties from the Galilee and Acre—all in an impressive historic setting.
Breakfast may also be booked without an overnight stay, by prior arrangement and subject to availability.
What is the connection between The Efendi Hotel and Uri Buri Restaurant?
Chef Uri Jeremias’s iconic restaurant is an integral part of The Efendi experience. Housed in a historic building by the sea, about a five-minute walk from the hotel, the restaurant specializes in fish and seafood.
Dinner at the restaurant—including its distinctive tasting menu—can be added to your stay with advance reservations, subject to availability.
